Friends of the Museum- Director of Operations
Brent Creelman became involved as a Museum volunteer while helping with The Friends’ Junior Sailing Program many years ago, bringing with him 25 years of experience in the boating and summer camp industries. After college Brent was an administrator at Maine Waterways, a wilderness tripping camp on the coast of Maine, and then had The Sailing Place (boat rentals, charter, lessons, etc.) in Atlantic Beach for 15 years prior to coming to work for The Friends.
The Friends hired Brent in 2001 as Boat Program Coordinator, overseeing the boating related programs that The Friends administer in support of the Museum, including the Boat Donation Program, developing additional programming, and overseeing Friends’ owned properties.
In April of 2003 Brent was appointed Executive Director of The Friends by the Board of Directors. He manages the Friends of the Museum offices, oversees the membership, development, and Museum support staff and coordinates and supervises the Museum’s Boating Programs and related activities administered by the Friends of the Museum.
In the spring of 2009 Brent’s title was changed to Director of Operations to better reflect the duties he has in running the non-profit and administering museum program support.
